Riverside Stadium
Project:
Brand identity design
The stadium is home to Middlesbrough Football Club but the stadium itself has many wonderful event spaces so I was asked to help create a separate identity for this side of the business.
I created a few different mood boards based on their requirements and initial ideas but it was eventually decided to keep the visuals neutral, bold and timeless.
I created a few different style directions for the stadium team to choose from. A modern, neutral style was chosen and then I played around with some logo ideas. The team requested a stadium icon to be included in the logo, which I was happy to create but I was mindful to keep the design pretty minimal and simple so it could be used across a range of media. The typography is bold and impactful which stands out and the initials RS can be used throughout the identity.
The colours were to include a 'Boro' red and I paired it with a beautiful rich navy and pure white so it can sit nicely alongside the MFC brand.
