Cake My Fancy
Cake business
Laura got in touch with me as she wanted to rebrand her cake business 'Cake My Fancy'. She wanted a brand identity that was fun and colourful but also looked professional.
After reviewing her Pinterest board I developed three directions for her brand. She loved them all but was attracted most to the bold, colourful, typography logos - so I created a selection of logo concepts for her. She narrowed it down to two concepts, then I developed these ideas further, until we got it perfect.
The final logo consists of her business name in a lower case chunky serif font with pastel, multicolour letters. It has a thick white outline border around the whole name which creates a soft feel. I also provided an option with an extra outline in lilac which means the logo can sit on a white or light coloured background and still look really bold.
I created a hand drawn polka dot pattern which could be used for packaging or social media backgrounds. The colourful pattern works really well on a bright white background to give an overall sense of fun with a professional, clean feeling.
I picked fonts that would complement the vibe and suggested a bold sans serif for titles, a lighter sans serif font for body copy and a calligraphy style font for subheadings.
